May is almost here on the Grand Strand, and that means it’s almost time for one of our favorite annual events: Myrtle Beach Bike Week! Since 1940, bikers of all lifestyles, ages and experience levels have gathered in Myrtle Beach for one of the greatest bike rallies in the country. As locals and visitors alike know, May is a perfect time of the year for such an exciting rally, and now, Bike Week has spread out over the 60 miles of coastline that we call home, so riders are welcome anywhere from North Myrtle Beach and Little River, south into Georgetown.
With the warm weather, the bustling beach, and daily events throughout the Grand Strand, Bike Week celebrates the coming of Summer and celebrates all the fun that makes Myrtle Beach such a wonderful place. From May 13th – May 22nd, hundreds of bikers cruise along the coast, with everything from foreign racing bikes to American choppers and everything in between. Bikers can enjoy a simple cruise along the Grand Strand’s coast, explore the surrounding towns, or even embark on “daycations” to nearby Wilmington, NC and Charleston, SC.
Bike shows, live music, vendors, and all kinds of fun and lively activities at local Myrtle bike bars like The Beaver Bar and Dead Dog Saloon all combine for a 24/7 party during the week. Hotspots for fun Bike Week activities also include the ever-popular Barefoot Landing, Ocean Annie’s, and of course Harley Davidson of Myrtle Beach.
For great food during the rally, The Plantation Pancake House in Surfside Beach offers a perfect place to rest and refuel your body, with a tantalizing menu of unique and delicious breakfast and lunch selections, headlined by their expansive menu of 71 Signature Omelettes. Bikers and visitors to Myrtle Beach alike love making a trip to Plantation Pancake House to indulge in their savory and sweet treats.
No great bike rally is completely without some rocking music, and that’s why guests during Bike Week won’t want to miss out on live music every night at The Deck at House of Blues Myrtle Beach! Enjoy free live music from the Southern Country Outlaw Band, Flashback Band, Steel County Express and more, with shows both during the day and at night under the stars. Don’t forget to grab a bit at The Smokehouse for some delicious American staples while you enjoy the bands.
We can’t wait to welcome our bikers to the area, and we hope to see you soon!
